ABOUT THE SHOW
Born in Memphis, singer/songwriter/guitarist, Dorsey William Burnette III (aka Billy Burnette), spent most of his youth in the presence of father Dorsey and Uncle Johnny (of the legendary Rock and Roll Trio). The Trio made the Rockabilly name famous by combining the name Billy and his cousin Rocky for the 1953 “Rockabilly Boogie” – thus making the term Rockabilly a household name. Billy has been recording hit records since the age of 11 and touring with Brenda Lee by 13!
In his early 20’s, Billy played guitar for Roger Miller, Dorsey Burnette, and was recording records and writing for such hit makers as Rod Stewart, Ray Charles, Roy Orbison, Tammy Wynette, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everly Brothers, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Glen Campbell, Eddy Raven, and many more.
During the 80s Billy Burnette signed the biggest solo record recording deal in history with Columbia Records, formed the band Mick Fleetwood’s Zoo with Mick Fleetwood, was nominated as “Best New Male Vocalist” by the Academy of Country Music, and joined Fleetwood Mac, one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Billy toured with Fleetwood Mac between 1987-1995 and appears on such records as: The Chain, Fleetwood Mac/Greatest Hits, Behind the Mask and The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac.
Since then, Billy’s songs were being recorded by such famed artists as: Roy Orbison, Ray Charles, Rod Stewart, Cher, Faith Hill, and Greg Allman, Bonnie Raitt and Ray Charles, and George Strait.
Billy Burnette contributed his talents as a guitar player and singer on tours with legendary musicians Bob Dylan and John Fogerty. Additionally, Burnette has also collaborated regularly with the Mick Fleetwood Band.
In 2017 Billy released his newst album “Crazy Like Me” during 2017, which is being hailed as a modern rockabilly master pieace , and the book “Crazy Like Me” that tells Billy’s amazing rock and roll journey.
Backing Billy will be the power house trio of David Uosikkinen on drums, (The Hooters.Robert Gordon, Charlie Gracie, Cyndi Lauper, Rod Stewart, Alice Cooper, Patty Smyth,), Kenny Aaronson on Bass, (Rolling Stone’s Bassist of the Year, The Yardbirds, Bob Dylan, Brian Setzer, Mick Taylor, Hall and Oates, Dave Edmunds, Joan Jett, Billy Idol…) and on guitar is Quentin Jones (Robert Gordon, Reach Around Rodeo Clowns, Hermans Hermits, Linda Gail Lewis, Charlie Gracie, Gretsch Guitar endorser, Rockabilly Hall of Fame inductee).
